The north-west of Scotland offers outstanding geology and an epic landscape consisting of moors, lochs, majestic peaks and dramatic coastal scenery – a dream come true for anyone passionate about walking and the outdoors. More than 60 Corbetts and Munros (mountains higher than 2500 and 3000 ft) are located in the area. But it’s the emptiness and remoteness of the place, recognised as one of the last wildernesses in Britain, which proves to be the biggest pull by far. It’s the perfect destination to get away from it all but also to enjoy some outdoor adventures.
